Landscaping & garden design
From the first sketch to the final slab, every garden transformation is planned and built around how you actually want to live in the space. The starting point is always the same - a free site visit, a proper conversation about what you want, and a clear understanding of what the garden has to do for you. Whether that's a place to entertain, somewhere safe for the kids to run around, alow-maintenance space you can enjoy without the work, or a complete design-ledgarden that turns heads, the brief shapes everything that follows.
Once the brief isclear, I put together a design - layout, materials, planting, levels, lightingand any built features like patios, decking, raised beds, walls or pergolas. Nothing gets quoted or built until you've seen the design and you're happy with it. Then the work starts: proper groundwork, quality materials, clean execution, and a finish you'll be proud of for years.
Patio & decking installation
A well-built patio or deck completely changes how you use your garden. Suddenly there's somewhere proper to sit out, to eat outside in the summer, to put the BBQ, and the rest of the garden makes sense around it. I install patios, composite decking, timber decking, driveways and pathways using quality materials chosen for durability, appearance and the way they weather over time.
The difference between a patio that lasts and one that fails is almost always what happens before the slabs go down. Every surface I lay starts with proper ground work: dug out to the right depth, a compacted sub-base, fall planned for drainage, and the right bedding mortar or screed for the material going on top. Porcelain, natural stone, sandstone, granite, block paving, composite decking, hardwood decking - different materials need different methods, and I use the right one for the job.

Turfing & planting
A fresh lawn transforms a garden faster than almost anything else. I supply and lay turf to a professional finish - old grass stripped, ground rotovated and levelled, top soil added where it's needed, edges cut clean, and quality turf rolled out tight with no gaps. The result establishes quickly, looks good from day one, and is ready to walk on within a couple of weeks.
Alongside turfing, I take care of planting schemes, border work and garden fencing - shrubs, hedging, herbaceous borders, raised beds and seasonal colour chosen to suit your garden's aspect and soil, plus timber, closeboard and composite fencing built to last with concrete posts, gravel boards and a clean, level finish. Whether you want a low-maintenance scheme that mostly looks after itself, a full planting refresh or new fencing as part of a wider garden tidy-up, I plan it around the result you actually want.
Garden maintenance
A garden needs consistent care to stay at its best, and most of the gardens I build, I also maintain afterwards. Regular garden maintenance visits cover everything your garden needs through the year: lawn mowing, hedge trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, turfing repairs, leaf clearance, border tidies and seasonal cutbacks. Visits are scheduled to suit your garden - weekly, fortnightly, monthly or one-off, and always left clean, tidy and ready to enjoy.
For larger gardens and commercial sites I offer ongoing maintenance contracts: a fixed schedule, a fixed price, and the same standards I'd apply to my own work. Commercial garden maintenance for offices, holiday lets, rental properties and care facilities is a growing part of the business - clean grounds make a real difference to how a property is perceived, and reliable, scheduled visits take the headache out of the freeholder's hands.

What areas do you cover?
Casteldine Landscapes covers Worthing, West Sussex (including Littlehampton, Bognor Regis,Chichester, Lancing, Shoreham, Arundel and Horsham), Brighton & Hove, and Surrey. Not sure if you're in range? Send a message, happy to take a look.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes, fully qualified in horticulture and fully insured with public liability cover. I workto professional industry standards and every job is left clean, safe and finished properly. All reviews on Checkatrade are rated 10/10.
Do you offer garden design as well as the build?
Yes. Full design-and-build is the direction the business is moving in. For larger garden transformations I'll put together a design before any work begins, so you can see how the layout, materials and planting come together before we break ground. Smaller jobs (patios, fencing, turfing) usually move straight to quote.
How long does a typical garden build take?
Most projects run between a few days and three weeks on site, depending on what's involved. A new patio or turfing job is usually wrapped up inside a week. A full garden landscaping project - design, hard landscaping, planting, fencing and turfing - typically takes two to three weeks on site once work begins, plus a short design phase before that. You'll get a clear timeline as part of your quote, including the planned start date and any weather contingency, so there are no surprises along the way.
How much does a landscape gardener cost?
Every project is different, so every quote is different. The only way to give you an accurate number is to visit your garden, see the space, and understand exactly what you want. That's why I offer a free site visit. I'll come out, measure up, and put together a proper itemised quote before any work begins. No guesswork, no hidden costs, no surprises.
